Safe Sitter Babysitter Training In-Person
Safe Sitter Babysitter training offered in partnership with Anoka City Parks and Recreation. This program prepares students grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching siblings, or babysitting. Students learn safety, child care skills, diapering, behavior management, online and personal safety. First aid and rescue skills including injury management, choking rescue, infant/child CPR. Activities, role playing and hands on activities with manikins create a fun learning environment while practicing skills. Course content follows guidelines of American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association. This class begins prior to the opening of the Library and only registered attendees will be allowed inside.
Youth participating will receive a Safe Sitter manual and will build a take home first aid kid.
Students will need to bring a lunch with them for during the class.
