The Outlander Series & Traditional Scottish Music with Laura MacKenzie In-Person
This program is intended for ages 13 years through adults. Have you explored the Outlander series, either through the books or the show? Join musician Laura MacKenzie for traditional Scots and Scottish Gaelic music inspired by the Outlander novels and TV series. The books feature a rich mix of Scottish songs, airs, and dance tunes, and MacKenzie brings these to life with a diverse range of instruments, including wooden flutes, whistles, concertina, Scottish smallpipes, border bagpipes, and her voice. This program delves into history, language, literature, and cultural traditions. Enjoy some familiar tunes, learn about Scottish heritage, and even join in on a lively Gaelic work song!
