SUMMARY:Fashion in the Time of Jane Austen
DESCRIPTION:Using fashion prints from her collection\, Candice will provide 
 an overview of the types of clothing worn during the extended Regency\, 
 c1795-1820\, which was the time of Jane Austen. The presentation will 
 explore fashions for various occasions or activities\, including day wear 
 and evening wear. Terms used during the period -- such as undress\, half 
 dress and full dress -- will be explained and illustrated with prints. 
 Popular types of outerwear will also be showcased\, including pelisses\, 
 spencers\, and mantles. The general evolution of style will also be 
 discussed\, including changing waistlines and hemlines.  \n\nAnoka County 
 Library strives to ensure that all visitors are able to access library 
 resources\, services\, and programs. Assistive technology and program 
 accommodations are available at many library locations as outlined here. 
 Please call the library branch hosting the program at least two weeks prior 
 to an event if there are additional accommodations we can provide for you
