Intro to Ink Painting

Intro to Ink Painting In-Person

Join us for an introduction to the lovely world of ink painting with bamboo brushes! We will explore some of the most traditional subjects in the area of Eastern ink painting: The Four Gentlemen. Each of these ʻgentlemenʼ is a traditional botanical subject that is both beautiful to paint and represents traditional virtues to live by. In this class, we will cover all four of these distinguished gents: Bamboo, Chrysanthemum, wild orchid, and plum branch. We will leave with four or more paintings on rice paper and an understanding of how to manipulate our bamboo brushes and apply the ink to paper in beautiful and artful ways.
