Are you a writer? Are you looking for a writing community? Are you curious about writing but don't know where to start? Start at the library with the Rum River Writing Group!
Anyone 16 and older may drop-in to join us the second Saturday of each month from 1pm to 3pm. The 1 o'clock hour is facilitated by library staff, RRWG members, or special guests. The 2 o'clock hour is freeform for communal activities.
Topic of the Day: Travel-Inspired Writing Workshop with Featured Local Author Colin Nelson. Learn how to turn your travels—real or imagined—into engaging stories. In this workshop, you’ll explore the basics of shaping a story inspired by the places you visit. Discover how to use setting, detail, and your own point of view to bring a story to life and make readers feel like they’re right there with you. Colin Nelson is the author of nine novels, including The Havana Syndrome. He writes mystery/suspense stories that educate readers, take them to exotic settings, and keep them turning the pages!
