Mexican Warm Sun, Cool Moon In-Person
The sun and the moon play an important role in Mexican culture; they assigned them each values. The sun received the positive values: life and flourishing nature; the moon’s values were a little more negative: the world of the dead, a decline. From the sun comes positive energy, the highest honors are given in the festivals and traditions that come from the “life cycles” – the same cycles which are associated with the arrival of Spring. For this project we learn about Warm colors for the sun and cool colors for the moon, Students then use complimentary warm and cool colors to finish Sun/Moon project. This program is geared for kids ages 5-15.
This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
