Story Quilts Workshop Online
Inspired by African American quilting traditions and styles such as scrap quilts and story quilts, participants will combine painting, fabric, and visual storytelling to create pieces of art that share personal stories, biographies, or stories written in preparation for the residency. COMPAS Teaching Artist Mica Lee Anders will adapt materials to at-home items that are likely found in most homes for this virtual session. Participants will learn about famous quilters and see some of their work.
This program will premiere on our Facebook page and be available for viewing for 2 weeks. This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
