Making Art for Social Change Online

It takes all kinds to change the world for the better, and we’ve all got different skills to bring to table. In this class we will look at different forms of art commonly used to get people to rally around a common cause: painting, printing, and text art. Examples from history and contemporary movements will be shown to draw inspiration and illustrate techniques. Our teaching artists will discuss and demonstrate some basic elements of strong graphic design which help the legibility and volume of this kind fo art. We will cover ideas of shape, form, contrast, and voice as we chat and help eachother create work which will help champion causes we feel passionate about.

This program will be presented virtually via Webex. Registrants will receive an email invitation link prior to the start of the program. This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
