Drawing and Painting Pollinators Online

Let’s get up close and personal with some of our smallest, busiest neighbors. In this class we will look at bumble bees, butterflies, and other pollinator insects as our inspiration. A teaching artist will show us how to spot the basic shape that make up these creatures and we will sketch them in pencil. Afterwards they will demonstrate a few simple watercolor techniques which can be used to add color to our illustrations. No previous drawing or painting experience is required to participate in this program; anyone can join us in appreciating our pollinator pals!

Participants will need to provide the following materials:
- paper (Any paper can work but a watercolor paper is recommended)
- pencils (Any pencil will work but having a 2B or lighter is recommended)
- eraser (Any eraser will work but a kneaded eraser is recommended)
- watercolors (any watercolor of any quality will work fine!)

This program is for ages 8+.

This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
