EARTH DAY SOUND GARDEN AT WARGO NATURE CENTER In-Person

The Earth Day Sound Garden at the Wargo Nature Center is a free, self-guided, family-friendly immersive experience that is designed to connect attendees more deeply with the natural world at this particular place. The Sound Garden will feature a temporary sound installation of 50 small, battery-powered remote speakers distributed throughout the park, each playing a different part of the larger piece of music, creating a multi-layered, immersive experience.  It is often called "A Concert You Can Move Through". The sound installation is accompanied live by roving musicians and performers, “The Free Range Orchestra & Choir”, as well as the mystical Blue Lady, a water ambassador who shares stories and songs about the importance of water and water stewardship in our communities. The Sound Garden will also feature poetry and local history posted throughout the space, for attendees to discover and read on their own.

This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
