Talking Strings: The Story of Romani Music In-Person

In this exciting, energetic and interactive program, learn about the history and evolution of Romani music, and about a variety of musical instruments played by the Romani musicians in various regions across Europe and around the globe. The audience are invited to participate in the performance as a collective rhythm section providing the hand clapping and playing various hand percussion instruments (provided by performers). The audience will also learn about the rich Romani culture, about the history and traditions of Romani people, and about their lifestyle that significantly varies from country to country in Europe and worldwide.

This program is funded by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
