SUMMARY:Teen Volunteer Opportunity: Peer Buddy for Adaptive Cooking
DESCRIPTION:Do you like meeting new people?  Are you kind\, patient\, and 
 accepting of people with all kinds of abilities?  We are looking for peer 
 buddies to partner with teens with disabilities to do art classes and 
 cooking classes together. Buddies will take the class alongside a teen with 
 disabilities with the goals of getting to know each other\, learn 
 together\, and assisting with participating in the program if needed.  
 Based on your buddy's abilities\, you may need to help with fine motor 
 skill actions like cutting or gluing\, help them read directions\, or you 
 might just be a friend. Read the attached document for some more 
 information.  \n\nMeet library staff in the meeting room to get a quick 
 overview to being a buddy before being introduced to your partner for the 
 class. Then have fun cooking together! This class is learning different 
 food preparation techniques. \n\nTeens can get community service hours for 
 helping with this event.\n\nNo application or interview is required for 
 this opportunity. Students must register online.  Registrants will get an 
 auto-generated confirmation email and then a reminder email before the 
 event. \n\n
